Business registration in Ghana — your questions answered.

How much does it cost to register a business in Ghana?

Our service fees range from GH₵600 for a Sole Proprietorship up to GH₵3,700 for an Express Company Limited by Shares. The exact total depends on your business type and how fast you need it — contact us to confirm, including any official Registrar charges for your case.

How long does business registration take in Ghana?

With our Regular service, registration takes about 4–5 weeks. Our Express service completes it in about 1 week, subject to the Office of the Registrar of Companies' processing times.

What types of business can I register?

We register Sole Proprietorships, Companies Limited by Shares, and Companies Limited by Guarantee (for NGOs and non-profits). If you're unsure which fits, we advise you before filing.

What is the difference between a sole proprietorship and a company limited by shares?

A sole proprietorship is owned and run by one person and is the simplest and cheapest to set up. A company limited by shares is a separate legal entity with directors and shareholders — it limits your personal liability and is better suited to growth and raising capital.

What documents do I need to register a business in Ghana?

Usually a valid Ghana Card or ID, your preferred business name, and basic details of the owner or directors. We tell you exactly what's required for your business type before we begin.

Will I receive a TIN and certificate?

Yes. We handle your Tax Identification Number (TIN) and deliver your registration certificate, so you can open a business bank account and start trading.
